Thing I Love #2 - Essie Nail Polish

I am absolutely addicted to nail polish. Ask anyone I know and they will say the same thing. I have a little wooden boat decoration in my bathroom with an open space for storage, and sitting in it there are (I'm not even joking) about 60 shades of nail polish. Mostly pinks and reds, and summer shades, they're just one of my favorite things!

Aside from the fabulous OPI, Essie is one of the best nail polish lines I've tried. A friend of mine got me a pedicure for my university graduation last year, and the nail polish they used was Essie. I couldn't get over how glossy and pretty it looked. Not to mention that it stayed on for over two weeks!! It has an excellent chip-resistant formula, is very durable and is available in every shade you could ever want.

Just a little bit of history for you all, taken from the official Essie website:

- Started in 1981 by Essie Weingarten
- Originally the line included 12 shades, and 3 nail treatments
- First launched in Vegas, inspired by the glitzy jobs
- 4 of the 12 original shades today are still top-sellers
- Each nail polish has a creative, whimsical name
- Today, Essie releases 4 collections a year, and includes over 200 shades

Among my favourites:
Geranium, Wild Thing, Status Symbol, Strawberry Sorbet, Hotspot.

Essie also makes some great nail treatments. I personally love their Top Coat, it really locks in the colour and makes your mani or pedi last much longer than without a top coat. It also keeps it really glossy right until the end. You can find Essie nail polishes at beauty outlets, salons and Trade Secrets stores for around $9.95.
